Hi John , I don't know if you remember me , I was also one of the Originals but I am not in your Photo . I was from Brooklyn, N.Y. My nickname was "TURK" Sgt . Ellis gave me that name . I was a demo man and very good friends with Ronnie Klentzin , and Dave(Candy) Kandefer who was a Grader Operator . My demo team , SP5 Chandler, SP4 Damstra and myself , were the first in the 87th to recieve the Army Comendation Medal for Valor . We were brought back from the boonies to Long Bhin to recieve the Medal . I came down with Bleeding Ulcers and left in May of 1967 , after being in the 24th Evac. for 3 weeks . I have lots of photos of us on the Pope , and the Base Camp Tent City . Please contact me and I will send them to you . When I saw your Company Photo I stepped back in time .
